The single most important thing that you will install in your landscape is your irrigation system. Without supplemental water almost all plants in Arizona will die. There are 3 major factors that you should consider when you are selcting a contractor to install your irrigation system.
Many people think that if a plant gets water then they have a successful irrigation system. That is not true. Many plants have very different watering needs, and you need to design your system to accommodate them. It is not practical, in most cases, to have a separate system for every type of plant in your yard, but you should at a minimum separate into 4 or 5 categories, if applicable: Trees, shrubs, pots, turf, desert plants. Remember, if you combine different types of plants on the same line you have to water for the plant with the greatest need, therefore you are wasting water and money.
***In many cases a properly designed watering system will pay for itself in water savings***
An irrigation system is composed of several components, each of which is critical for the success of the system.
Pressure Vacuum Breakers (PVB) Required by code a PVB is a back flow preventer designed to prevent your irrigation water from getting into your potable water.
Sprinklers (Repair and Installation) - Sprinklers or sprayers are the best method for watering shallow rooted plants such as grass or other ground covers. All piping is installed using schedule 40 PVC and is trenched a minimum of 6-8 inches deep.
Drips (Repair and Insulation) - Drips are the best, most cost-effective way of ensuring your plants receive all of their watering needs. No water is lost due to sun or wind. It is designed to give plants slow water application over long periods of time, this helps the plants achieve deeper roots and more abundant foliage. 5/8" poly vinyl tubing is used for the mainline distribution of water, with ¼" tubing at individual plants for each plants watering needs.
Bubblers (Repair and Installation) - Bubblers are similar to drip irrigation, but much less flexible. Bubblers permit a larger volume of water to be quickly dispensed through PVC, but require wells around all plants for even watering and to reduce waste of water.
Valves (Repair and Installation) - Our valves are a high quality light industrial valve manufactured from heavy duty PVC construction for UV resistance and corrosion protection. Flow control allows variation in the volume of water allowed through the valve ranging from 5 to 120 gallons per minute and under pressure from 10 to 150 PSI. The heavy duty molded diaphragm promotes extra long life for the valve.
